The GlenDronach, Allardyce, an expression from their core range, is named after the renowned founder of the distillery, James Allardice. This exceptional whisky has been matured in the finest Spanish Oloroso sherry casks for at least 18 years, with some claiming that it actually contains whisky up to 24 years old! The result is a complex and rich whisky with hints of stewed fruit, soft spices, cherries, walnut bread, and rich sherry.
Bottled at 46% ABV, with a natural color.
Available in a 70cl bottle at 46% ABV.
TASTING NOTES
APPEARANCE
Antique bronze with an amber hue.
NOSE
Deep aromatics of raisin fudge and dark muscovado sugar. Fruit compote and morello cherry provide added layers of complexity.
TASTE
Rich dark and seductive. Remarkable flavours of stewed fruits and all-spice marry together with classic aged Oloroso sherry and toasted walnut bread combined with chocolate orange.
FINISH
Long and full-bodied with treacle, date and maple.
