Laphroaig 10 Year Old, the original Laphroaig, has been distilled using the same method since Ian Hunter invented it over 75 years ago. It serves as the foundation for all other Laphroaig expressions.
In the production of Laphroaig, malted barley is dried over a peat fire. The smoke from this peat, exclusively found on Islay, imparts Laphroaig’s distinctive rich flavour.
Those who savour the 10 Year Old will initially be struck by its bold, smoky taste, followed by a subtle hint of seaweed and an unexpected sweetness. This full-bodied variant forms the basis for all Laphroaig expressions and concludes with a long, lingering finish.
Available in a 700ml bottle, at 40% abv.
