Glenfarclas 105, Cask Strength is a core expression from the Glenfarclas Whisky Range. It is thought to be the first commercially available Cask Strength bottling when it was launched in 1968. The "105" refers to the old British proof, which equates to 60% ABV. This expression has no age statement but is rumoured to be between 8-10 years old, it is matured in a combination of ex-sherry and ex-bourbon barrels. The result is a sherried whisky with depth and complexity, with a rich spiciness, hints of oak and sherried fruit. A drop of water will reveal more layers and depth from this great dram.
