Blair Athol 12 Year Old, a Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the Diageo Flora and Fauna range, is positioned at the sweeter end of the spectrum. It has been matured in ex-sherry European oak casks, resulting in a whisky with prominent sherry notes, oak, fruits, and sweet spice.
Available in 70cl bottles at 43% alcohol by volume.
TASTING NOTES
APPEARANCE
Polished mahogany.
NOSE
Muscat grapes and Madeira wine, brimstone in the background, even tar. Dried apricots in the foreground, and treacle toffee.
PALATE
Rich and mouth-filling, with a good balance.
FINISH
A curious sweetness is introduced at the end after the acidity and dryish finish has passed.
