The Balvenie, The Week Of Peat, is number two in the stories Series. This 14 year old is heavily peated and was part of an experiment by Distillery manager Ian Millar to use some of the knowledge that he gleaned from a trip to Islay. The result is a sweet and smoky whisky that balances earthy peat smoke with the distillery's characteristic citrus edge.
Gentle peat smoke, delicate flowers and sweet butterscotch fill the nose, while the palate initially offers notes of sharp citrus, blossom honey, creamy vanilla and rich, earthy peat.
