Distillery Facts:
Balvenie was opened in 1892 by William Grant, who wanted to build a new distillery in order to help his other distillery at Glenfiddich to meet consumer demand. Originally known as Glen Gordon it took the name of the ruined castle located next door.

The Balvenie, The Week Of Peat, is number two in the stories Series. This 14 year old is heavily peated and was part of an experiment by Distillery manager Ian Millar to use some of the knowledge that he gleaned from a trip to Islay. The result is a sweet and smoky whisky that balances earthy peat smoke with the distillery's characteristic citrus edge.

Gentle peat smoke, delicate flowers and sweet butterscotch fill the nose, while the palate initially offers notes of sharp citrus, blossom honey, creamy vanilla and rich, earthy peat.

70cl @ 48.3% alc./vol.
